Between the Tides

Ruth Guillard

Ruth F. Guillard wrote her latest book, Between the Tides, during the interim before moving from her home on the Damariscotta River on the coast of Maine to an inland 1815 house near the Cathance, a small river that flows into Merrymeeting Bay. Guillard calls it “an exchange of rivers.” She is interested to see what the changes in her natural and cultural surroundings will bring to her writing. This newest collection contains observations about nature and reflections on life in its varying aspects, with a richness of emotions running through the poems.

"Evocative… she uses such delicate language, yet her words have the power to paint a picture in every poem." —Helene Soraghan Dwyer, internationally acclaimed Irish poet, executive with the Irish writer's Union, host of a weekly arts program on Dublin South FM.
